Investigators believe Vella was waiting in Isceri&#8217;s garage when she returned home, then forced her into the trunk of his car and drove toward the A1 motorway, according to Gossip Herald. Isceri reportedly managed to call police for help during the abduction and gave them information about her location, but authorities were unable to reach her in time. Body camera footage reportedly shows officers attempting to talk with him before he jumped. Both Isceri and Vella were found dead below the bridge. Authorities have ordered an autopsy to determine whether Isceri died from the fall or was killed beforehand, according to Italian reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Isceri&#8217;s mother told Italian outlet SkyTG24 that her daughter had confided in her about fearing Vella. &#8220;I last heard from her yesterday at 10:30 a.m. and she was calm,&#8221; her mother said. &#8220;She had told me about this relationship; she was afraid, too afraid.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an Instagram post shared on Aug. 12, Vella had written about his heartbreak following the couple&#8217;s breakup, sharing a montage of photos and videos of the two together, according to People. Prosecutor Antonio Natale of the Public Prosecutor&#8217;s Office in Florence and the Florence mobile squad are leading the investigation into both deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Isceri&#8217;s death is among a string of suspected femicides reported in Italy in 2026. As of Aug. 8, 40 women had been killed in the country this year, with seven of those deaths, including Isceri&#8217;s, attributed to a current or former partner, according to the feminist alliance organization Non Una di Meno, as cited by The Guardian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a sensitive topic.
